On Saturday, December 7, 2024, the English Students Association held a successful sharing session titled “The Path to Camp EPIC: A Journey of Opportunities and Growth.” The event took place at the Phinisi Auditorium and was attended by 125 students from various semesters (1, 3, 5, and 7).
The session featured Abdul Muthalib, a distinguished Camp EPIC awardee and student of the English Education Department, as the speaker. Moderated by Ayu Pratiwi, the event highlighted Abdul Muthalib’s experience in the EPIC Camp Pre-Service Teacher Training organized by the Regional English Language Office of the U.S. Embassy Jakarta in collaboration with Universitas Indonesia, Bandung.
During the session, Abdul shared insightful details about the registration process for the program, including eligibility requirements and selection stages. He also recounted his journey through the program, discussing creative teaching strategies, collaborative activities, and the challenges he faced. Beyond recounting his experiences, Abdul provided practical tips to help students prepare for such opportunities.
The event aimed to inspire and motivate students to pursue similar programs by highlighting the benefits of participating in Camp EPIC, such as enhanced teaching skills and boosted confidence as future English teachers. Abdul encouraged the audience to embrace such opportunities and prepare diligently to become the next generation of competent and competitive campers.
Through this event, the Head of English Education Department, Mrs. Husnaini, S.Pd.I.,M.Pd. hopes to ignite a spark of enthusiasm among its students, encouraging them to strive for excellence and actively engage in professional development programs.
